Gavin directs broadcast, corporate and exhibition films, working with a wide range of highly skilled freelance lighting and camera people, sound recordists, editors and supporting crew. This choice of contractors offers the opportunity to team up with whoever is most suitable and available for every film.
Post production is either taken out to the best available post-production houses or completed in-house. Simple edits, e.g. a sequence of interviews will be edited in-house. Edits which include a large amount of graphics and effects will be contracted out.
Gavin has been working in the industry since 1991. As a postgraduate from Newcastle and with a new found love of film, GT moved to Edinburgh as an alternative to pounding the streets of Soho in an attempt to break into the recoiling, post-1980s advertising industry.
Starting in the industry as a runner with the established and respected production house Picardy TV, GT moved on to experience camera assisting and production support roles, working as researcher, technical production manager and assistant producer on many corporate jobs, commercials, broadcast documentaries and theatrically released cinema productions.
